Sarah is a special needs adult who lives in a group home. She is nonverbal and has autism. One of the staff members, John, is often verbally abusive to Sarah. He calls her names, makes fun of her, and tells her that she is worthless. He also threatens to punish her if she doesn't do what he says. The other staff members at the group home are aware of John's behavior. Some of them have seen him verbally abuse Sarah, and others have heard from Sarah that he is unkind to her. However, they are not sure if they should report it. They are worried about getting John in trouble, and they are also afraid that he will retaliate against them if they do report him.
